Bailey Zimmerman w/ Special Guest Nate Smith, Coming August 10th To The 2023 Franklin County Fair

Get ready for a country combo you won’t ever forget! August 10th, 2023, Bailey Zimmerman with special guest Nate Smith will be on stage at the Franklin County Fair in Malone, NY! Bailey Zimmerman, one of country music’s most exciting new voices, hit superstardom with his 2022 release “Leave the Light On”. Zimmerman has the rasp of a seasoned rocker and the heart of a sensitive country songwriter. Growing up in a small town in Louisville Illinois, embracing country music on long-haul truck rides with his dad, and 80’s hair bands at home with his mom. You’ll know him for “Never Comin Home” and record shattering singles “Fall in Love” and “Rock and a Hard Place”. You’ll hear these and many more when you see him on stage at the Franklin County Fair with special guest Nate Smith!

Nate Smith brings a mix of gritty backwoods soul, rock & roll swagger, and velvet thunder vocals. Soon after Nate hit Nashville he released his biggest song to date, “Wildfire”, and since then the hits keep coming, including “Sleeve” and “Under My Skin”. Making huge waves is Nate’s latest release “ Whiskey on You”, currently climbing the country radio charts!

Franklin Country Agricultural Society is proud and excited to bring Bailey Zimmerman with special guest Nate Smith, small town country rock boys to the Franklin County Fair in Malone, NY, August 10th, 2023.

Franklin County Agricultural Society Cuts Ribbon On New Riding Arena

Over the past few years, the Fair Board had discussed building a new riding arena where horse shows and agricultural events could be held both during fair week and throughout the summer, independent of negative weather conditions. Several of the directors had been to numerous horse shows throughout New York and other territories, seeing indoor arenas serving exactly that purpose, accommodating shows regardless of weather. After learning of the Shutter Venue Operators Grant, the Agricultural Society applied and in November of 2021 was granted a substantial amount of funding to be used for the arena. The building was purchased and the contractor was hired to construct the building starting in March of this year. A few short months later, the Franklin County Agricultural Society Inc. has one of the largest and most modern indoor arena in the Northeast.

Because the Franklin County Agricultural Society Inc. is a privately owned corporation, the balance of the funding had to be obtained from a local bank (Community Bank, N.A.). The hope is that the building will be paid for by having successful fairs in the future as well as raising the funds through future horse shows. Several other ideas have been suggested as to the use of the building in the off season to help raise revenues as well. One of our plan is to fill the building in the winter with cold storage, as with the addition of this building we are now able to accommodate any size of luxury or personal vehicle. Reservations are now being taken for winter storage at 518-481-0720.

The Franklin County Agricultural Society Inc. would like to thank the following people and businesses that helped make this indoor riding arena possible:

  • Joel Wood, VP of Strategic Initiatives with the Plattsburgh North Country Chamber of Commerce, for his guidance and his assistance in the application process for the Shuttered Venue Operators Grant.

  • All local and state officials that we have worked with throughout the grant process.

  • Scott from H&C Robinson Contractors, for his trucking in materials for the foundation work.

  • Taylor Collins from Collins & Co., for hauling in materials needed for the ground work and the track.

  • Ross Sutton Jr. from Sutton Excavation, for the excavation work he provided throughout the project.

  • Arnold Lumber & Concrete, for working with the contractors’ schedules and providing the necessary concrete.

  • Andre Rieksts from AM Equipment, the General Contractor that constructed the arena.

  • Darcy King with Community Bank, for her assistance in helping us obtain the balance of funds needed to construct the building.

  • Tracie King, Office Manager for the Franklin County Agricultural Society Inc., for her assistance and keeping track of the day to day issues throughout the project.

  • All of the Franklin County Agricultural Society’s directors for the long hours spent planning obtaining bids, and working with contractors, to make this arena possible.

Thank you to all of the above from the Franklin County Agricultural Society Inc. Board of Directors.
